Default My New Ride!

This is off topic, but still two wheels! Just sold my road bike and picked up this new 2012 Specialized Venge. It is fully loaded from a road bike standpoint with the latest and greatest. Weighs in at just over 15 lbs. and performs like a dream! I road my old road bike last Saturday fresh and compared my time on the same route after having done 150 miles since then and I was 10 minutes quicker! See graph below. Amazing.

Very nice!

I have a Trek Madone 5.9 in almost the same color scheme. It's amazing how light and fast these things are. Congrats on the purchase

I actually like riding the S1K because of the same feelings I have on my road bicycle. Kind of a riders high on a motorcycle. Wind, speed and music make the ride!

Always liked Trek. My favorite MTB to date was a Trek 9.9 from 2003(?). Great bike and lots of fun.

It was A LOT! The cost is always surprising when you go to buy a mountain or road bicycle. The wheels were $1K less than my BSTs with ceramic bearings!!

Now I know that thing cost more than my two race bikes put together... probably along w/my race trailer thrown in too!

Very nice indeed!! With the cost of that thing, you must carry some kind of insurance, no? Hell I'd have liability, collision, comprehensive - LOL

By the way... top speed on this bike on the downhill slope on the graph was close to 54 MPH. My fastest speed previous to this was just under 53 MPH on this hill.

My fastest overall speed was just under 60 MPH coming down Little Cottonwood Canyon. Scares the living s**t out of you on a road bicycle. Worth every minute! I have no idea how fast I could get this bike on the same descent.

Especially considering what you're wearing (damn near nothing)

Well, I wasn't in San Francisco, but close to nothing.

By the way, I edited the MPH above after looking at the data again. The Little Cottonwood Canyon road ascends close to 4K feet in 6 miles. So, coming down is insane! Have't been up there yet this year. Maybe this weekend?
