Default KTM RC8R... Raffle, had to buy a ticket :)

Saw this on WERA... had to put in for one... Asked the wife about supporting Roadracing World Action Fund through a raffle for this bad boy (1 of only 25 shipped to the US [limited edition]) and her response was actually quite cool - "If you win it are you gonna give me your S1?" You should know that she doesn't really care for motorcycles ever since my wreck but supports my track and race habits since she figures 'that's who she married' Anyway, she's now thinking about riding (maybe). So if I win this thing, I may have to give my S1 away Actually, we'd try and get her an appropriate first bike (I just haven't told her that yet)

Here's the link to the raffle description, looks like out of 250 tickets, they're down to about 50. Ktm rc8r raffle - 13x Forums

hmmm well. If you ever ride it, and believe me i want you to, you will find it as an excellent bike, BUT, even if you believe you are fast on it, your timer will show you you 're not...Great bike, great handling ,but thats what it's got to offer. Nothing more

Yep, unfortunately it's taken that long to get folks to fork out $100 a pop for a ticket... economy and all that crappy stuff got in the say. Spoke w/Bob this morning (owner of the shop doing the fund raiser)... he's still got about 50-ish left and as soon as they're sold he will have the drawing.

Our local track is short and technical, so being fast really boils down to entry speed and how much you carry through the turn along with getting back on the throttle. Fastest racer on our track is on a 600. So I guess it would depend on how quick/nimble this thing is. Would be fun for sure, never road a V-twin

I don't know about all that I race with guy on the RC8 that did really well (2nd place expert for the year) it's a bad ass bike especially with the thinner head gasket that comes with it installed.

Local track is almost 3.200 klm. Fastest racer on track is on a small formula. Bike record on the S1.
RC8 as it comes from the factory, lacks in power. Good geometry but poor engine. When i test ride it, i was able to finish my forth gear in places i can't finish my second on the S
