Default RIP

This happened two blocks from my house. My girlfriend came upon the accident before the paramedics go there as she was out walking the dog and all she saw was the guys legs sticking out of the front window from the knees down. When the firefighters arrived they had to use the jaws of life to cut him out.
She freaked out as she knew that I had just left on a ride.

Such a young guy, my prays and thoughts go out to his family.
Lets all slow down on the road.

I was brave and took a look. Two pictures, one of the crashed bike and one of the minivan. No gory stuff so it's safe. I've been taken by surprise before when someone posts a link and it turns out to be something you don't forget! This isn't one of those.

Holy fock!! Sad, but this happens everyday. R.I.P.
From the looks of it he was doing a decent speed and the van pulled out and he hit the drivers door, implanted himself in the van and the bike went over it.

This is very sad to hear and see as it is not a good feeling for any rider since it hits us harder than non riders. I have been hit 4 times, with 2 of them being felony hit and runs on the freeway. My thoughts and prayers go to the riders family and friends.

Even sadder that it does happen every day...

I just had a good friend of mine drop his bike here in Germany. He's been riding 17+ years and is an MSF instructor and a huge truck cut him and another car off. The truck left and didn't even know what happened. The car claims they didn't slam on their brakes despite 6 foot skid marks from a car. now they are trying to get my buddy for "following to close" going 20-25mph in city traffic right after a stop light. The car left the scene as well but he got hunted down. My friend just got out yesterday and is doing fine. Bike isn't. Just more evidence that it can happen to the best of us.
