Would you Run ?
Your are out in the Twisties in a very rural area.
You have just come up on a short straight and are doing 120 mph when all of of sudden ...there in front of you..coming straight at you ..the LAW!
He is but a couple of 100 yards from you and you are going 120 mph..he has probably got you on Radar or Laser 'cause his red and blues come on.
You know the area very good, all the side roads ...it's only 15 miutes in several different directions to get to 5 different Counties.
Do you slow down and wait for the enevitable ...maybe a big fine , maybe a trip to jail and your bike impounded.....or
do you knowing he probably can't get your tag characters as you blow by... head for the nearest side road getting a mile or 2 head start on him while he slows down , turns around and gets up to speed then you make a quick turn right or left then another then another and in less than 15 minutes you should be in the next closest County.
What did he see ?
A blurr go by at 125 mph 'cause you're in a tuck.
The trick is to once you turn on to another road is to ride fast for a like 5 minutes , then slow down to the speed limit so if another Law man spots you and does pull you over you aren't doing anything wrong, you're just out riding .
Maybe just looking at Nature , yearning to be free !
( Even if you don't know the area that good. the idea is to put a couple of miles quickly between the 2 of you and then turn off the road , then turn again towards home or a familar place where you can ride slowly.)
It helps to have a good story as to where you were which would be no where near where the incident originated , how long you were riding that day, where you were headed. Law men like to know these things I think.
Obviously this doesn't work well for multiple riders unless they go in opposite directions and if stopped at any point they were riding solo all day .
I'm not saying to RUN.
I'm just asking what you would do and some scenarios if you did.

i've done it a few times, ONLY when i knew for SURE that odds are hugely in my favor.
i've also pulled over before the cop even put his lights on when i was coming over a crest at over 100mph and saw the cop sitting on the side of the road ready to go with just a straight road ahead so there was no chance of me getting away. i just pulled over and he came up like a minute later lol

Were you successful in the times that you did ?
What was the out come when you pulled over and was the cop pointed towards you ?

My question would be why do those speeds on the street at all? Mind you, I have done my fair share of non-sensible stuff myself, including running from the LEO when I thought I had an advantage. But the track lets me run as fast as I want, and no one wants to talk to me about it afterward.
Maybe consider taking that type of riding off the streets and onto the track? Just an idea. These machines are mega fast. Probably too fast for the public roads, but we can use them at the track.

It depends, how much to you value your life? Many in that situation have either died, or injured/killed someone else, for a simple speeding ticket? Not worth it.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

I say yes to this question all the time but I'm sure if I was in the situation I would pull over straight away.

Hi Adam
I was told by one of your mates that he and his mates routinely run 120mph ( 193 kph ) in the outback down to Darwin because the Courts told the Constabulary to not chase motorcyles because they usually end in the death of the motorcyclist.

RUN ?
Once, riding on a long staight road on the Maryland Eastern Shore, I went totally fast to pass six cars, and the trooper was on-coming, hit the lights, and I knew there was no way off the straight-line Eastern Shore, so I just pulled over and waited. He actually thanked me for not running, saying he could not have caught me, and gave me a BIG BREAK on over posted speed.
But in the N.C. mountains, it's simply run, divert, and gone. Can't believe how many riders think they can go fast at Deal's Gap with seven or more Tennessee Troopers every week-end. There are so many mountain and valley roads in N.C. as good as D.G. and easy to run & divert as described. Know your ride route.

yes, one time i was going ~90 in a 65 and saw a highway patrol car going the opposite way, as he passed me i saw him flick his lights on, there was a ~30ft green divider with a dip in the middle so i KNEW it would take him awhile to slow down, go across the divider and accelerated back up to catch up to me. dropped it to 2nd, got up to ~150, soon as i got to the first exit, i got off and went out in the country about 10 miles away from the highway, sat there for about 15 mins then headed back.
the time i pulled over right away, he got me going 104 in 65 and i got off with a simple ticket that cost 300 bucks. i was very polite to him and he was cool and appreciated me pulling over right away so that helped.
