Default Kawi guys - what's with them?

Can they ever have anything positive to say about the BMW?

I would assert it is a lack of maturity combined with jealousy and a good dose of squidliness thrown in for good measure; regardless, it is comedic.

Yes, there has been a tremendous display of maturity in this forum concerning the ZX10R.

Seems to go hand in hand with people getting banned... ZX10 thread pops up... within a few days folks are getting banned for the stoopid crap that starts flying from their keyboard.

No...they own a kawi and cant believe the bike has fallen flat on its face! I had a 98 750 it was a pig and would go into nasty tank slappers. the new Zx-10 didn't live up to the hype...bottom line end of story! BMW blew it out of the water

Yes they can. My best friend love's my SKRR and never bad mouthed it other than saying he hated the stock handle bar setup for comfort reasons. Even so, he just brought home a new ZX10R to replace the Triumph T-595 he had that I totaled last year. This summer should prove fun, as he still believes the ZX10R HP is about the same as the SKRR, and he outweighs me by at least 80# .

None of the above applies to my buddy, or another of our friends that has an older ZX who we regularly ride with. This may be because we're all pushing our late 50's and are finally starting to grow up.

Those statements probably apply to a few folks on this board if we wanted to be honest, so I don't believe it's a brand thing.

Key word... best friend. In the end we are all bike riders and bike lovers so when we really meet face to face it doesn't matter we just love to ride. If you saw a zx10 rider on the street it's a good chance you would give the favorable head nod or friendly hand wave rather than down each others choice of motorcycle. It's all hype, that's all. Cheers

I own a ZX-10R AND the BMW S1000RR..

No matter what was wrong with each generation of Kawasaki literbikes; the handling not being good enough, the brakes being subpar, the suspension not allowing the bike to handle quite well enough to match the Hondas, Yamahas, Suzukis or Ducatis, there was always one area they could feel good about... The ZX-10R was always a beast in the engine department...

One of the Motorcycle magazines did a 0-180 mph test with all the top Bikes AND a 1000 HP Ford GT... The ZX-10R blew everything away...

The BMW S1000RR comes out and promptly is 20 -25 HP up on every other Bike out there... Cue the emotional meltdown for some of the ZX-10R owners...

I have pretty much stopped going to the ZX10r.net site, because the overall tone of the discussions has gone right down the crapper.. Any mention of the BMW brings howls of rage and denial from the Kawasaki zealots.. They trot out dyno reults from the only magazine that ranked the Euro ZX-10R ahead of the BMW (by 2 hp at peak)... they suckle at the teat of Garth, who claims to have gone 200 mph on his 2011 ZX-10R and has a "jockey" who rides his Bike for him in his "races".

So much emotional upheaval, whining, bitching and denial, just because the BMW is faster than the Kawasaki. The moderator has basically banned any discussion that includes any reference to the BMW being faster or better than the ZX-10R...

I just like Motorcycles.. I have owned pretty much every available brand of Bike and I love them all for different things. At the moment, the BMW S1000RR is what floats my boat.. Maybe in a few years, I will buy the Aprilia, or maybe Honda comes out with a 340 lb MotoGP replica...

Bunch of crybabies.... Stop worrying about the BMW and enjoy your ZX-10R without worrying that your pen1s has suddenly shrunk because the ZX-10R isn't King of the hill anymore

i go over to the zx10 site to read about the 10r and what the people are doing to them.i do find it funny though that alot of the guys over there absolutely freak out when the bmw is mentioned, and to get banned for bringing it up in a thread is small minded moderating to me.i don't have any problem with another brand of bike, each one has it own thing about it.there are parts of the 10r i do like and some i don't.personally i don't understand how kawasaki couldn't get around having to neuter the power output to make it pass emissions.i think there is more to that story, but time will tell.as for garth,i used to live an hour north of him and have raced my zx-11,r1 and other bikes on the very same road he is on in his videos,i wish i still lived there so i could go race him.personally,i don't believe that 201mph run at all.i want to know how he got that mph recorded?a gps unit?his cell phone gps?how?

but, again, this thread will probably bring 10r owners over here in defense of their brand and crap will ensue...again.....so..let's all just get along, shall we?

It’s kind of amusing to have a friendly banter and I do miss the dribble from Garth and friends (to be entertained).
I have always taken their statements with a grain of salt knowing that envy and jealousy has a lot to do with it in what they post.
It’s no different to stirring up your mates on a ride day, if it’s not the bike it’s the helmet or the leathers etc.etc..

Your right, on the end of the day we all love bikes no matter the preference (at the time).

1st of all, what do they have to be proud of ...has a Kawi even been on a podium in any WSBK or MOTOGP in recent memory ?

Then the all hyped up new ZX-10R sort of does a belly flopper right out of the gate w, an engine recall ...and doesn't have the cajones to stomp on the S 1000 RR as hoped.

I think the memory of the late '70s ZX1000 is still mucking up people's minds like it was the baddest bike ever and it's offspring should be just a mirror image of the once great streetbike.
