yes, I was lucky to be at the track with Damian Cudlin prior to XMas, he is one of the test riders for the BMWS1000 engined Suter framed MotoGP bikes. earmarked for 2012 entry under the new rules.
He had a go on a bog standard S1000 and said it wasn't that much less powerful, main difference is in the brakes and suspension. He was shocked how fast the standard bike was, "they actually sell these on the road?". He of course was travelling at warp speed (slick mode)....us well...you get the picture.
In Supertsock here, the BMWS1000 won every race it entered (didn't start till round 3) and was consistently in the top 10 of the superbikes...on a standard bike.
I have seen some tests also on the ZX10R, basically "It is at least now in the same generation as the BMW, it just is not really better in any facet, and therefore not a game changer. That's no bad reflection on the ZX it just shows how far that the BMW moved the class".
