Default A POSITIVE NOTE

i was just thinking what will all the bullshit on the forum about how good or bad our bikes are, we should just put one thing or reason down u bought the bike and not another brand or model..

im going to go with how smooth the throttle seems to me, i hate bikes that ya cant cruise at low speeds without being jerky....instead of the throttle being like a switch its more like a potentiometer (witch it is)......small changes on the throttle are small acceleration.........smoooooth

I brought mine because I wanted to believe how good it was. Never been so short changed.

should have ridden one at length and made your own mind up, journo's are cosseted and rewarded amply with freebies and so are inclined to review bikes well, even the crap ones!

its all to do with how much advertising is at stake,,,

sorry you feel this way,,10 years of fireblades and it was'nt until my 2010 model that I got let down,,, by Honda, not the dealer, not the bike, but the attitude and aftercare,,,

just my humble view

agree man! I changed brand because of poor trade in values despite earlier promises. Went for the BMW because of the press and one good test ride. I dont regret it yet enough to sell, Im hoping that a new clutch and some TLC from my dealer will convince me to stay with it, but the dog rough idling engine, shite clutch, vibrations and high cost of any upgrades by comparison to the Jap stuff just makes me feel somewhat peed with my purchase. To top it all off, I managed to get a ride out at the weekend, and my biker chums declared it wasnt as nice from the back end as my R1. After the banter of why were you behind me when I only have 9k revs to play with at the moment subsided, I realised their comments pissed me off!! (Because in hindsight, they were correct!)

I bought one, because I rode one back-to-back with an Aprilia Factory... I was positive I was buying the Aprilia, but after that ride, I realized I really liked the BMW S1000RR.

The BMW S1000RR is the best Bike I have ever owned and I have owned more than 30 Bikes in my life, including a Ducati 998R, a Kawasaki ZX-10R, numerous GSXR's, three Triumph Daytona 675's etc, etc... The only one of those that I still own is the Triumph Daytona 675 which is a brilliant, sweet Bike that I love...

Being a Beemer fan-boy, I bought mine because it was BMW's 1st super bike.
It was a must have, and I am still VERY glad I got it.

I went to a get together at the dealer where I purchased my 09 BMW R1200R and I took the demo S1000rr for a test ride and was instantly smitten by the power, the smooth throttle and braking. Need less to say, I traded up that day and I've been extremely happy with the purchase.

Pretty simple- just ride one

Sold the gen 2 busa the next day, traded in the bking following weekend.

This bike is just amazing, that's the only way to explain it.

I went with the bike for all the options, and the military safety package sealed the deal. Owned an 08 Fireblade and numerous harleys. More than happy with the BMW. Looking forward to a couple trackdays this season. You pay more for add ons because you pay for quality and obviously the name. There are a ton of knock off parts for jap bikes. Coming from harleys, the accessories are actually alot cheaper for the BMW. And my neighbor just picked up a 2010 R1 and he gets spanked on a daily basis. I made the choice based on my preference on options and styling, not a magazine. Thanks
