so it wasn't little blue smurfs corroding the frame and causing the bike to blow apart in the middle of a turn like everyone (in general...not a forum bash...just joking) was saying?

I believe 1/2 of what I read and 90% of what I see.

We'll see.

Possible valve surge, either it was or it wasn't???? Basic design flaw, shouldn't have that been tested in the R&D stage. If the valve springs were too light allowing the valve to unseat then that is a major f**k up.

I always called it valve bounce. Stiffer springs which is the solution will consume hp as the internal friction loss is greater as its harder to push the valve down. Thats why gp bikes use pneumatic valves.

We will see I suppose but I am not convinced with this band aid fix.

I think it was the same guy that wrote all the Toyota recall stuff?
What it was meant to say was " dear potential Muppett (for buying a Kwak), if you do try this ugly, quickly designed, heavily flawed run of the mill bike, please dont take it on the track as in the unlikely event you finish the lap in one piece, you will have broken the engine. Our test riders dont use tracks, they just go for a leisurely ride around town. Our ZX10r is not a race or track bike, so you must be careful - do not rev the engine"

Begs the question tho - been building these types of machine for decades - who and where are they being tested then? Come on guys - take your time and dont rush - takes a minute to destroy the brand and years to re-build it.

gnance, did any of that originate here? I think not. A lot of it came from the ZX10RR.net though (as well as the BMW engine being made in China ). By the way, the BMW dyno mode rumour was started by TH on the Honda board.

Still disapointed that I didn't see any of those failed posters with the Kawi in them.

R&D doesn’t always exposed all potential problems, if it did there would never be any recalls. Having some unforeseen issues When bringing a redesigned from the ground up product to the market is not uncommon. The new zx10 is not a "heavily flawed" bike. Kawasaki makes very good motorcycles. The 2011 ZX10 is having some teething pains but I wouldn't count on it being a piece of s*it as some in this forum seem to hope it will be.
