Default ZX10 engine problems

Here is the latest. As I said before, at least they came to the party. Looks like all the bikes will be scrapped according to he ZX10 board.

sucks they are recalling the bike, but I commend them for fixing the problem and being proactive about it. In actuality I had hoped bmw would have done the same thing when the cams were breaking and such. Maybe their "replace the part when it becomes a problem" solution is fine, but I get better piece of mind from sending the bike back and fix the underlying design issue.

regardless, don't know what is up with companies claiming certain hp and not delivering. But on a serious note, other than internet bragging most average joes aren't going to notice a difference. Not to say all us guys don't want the bike with the most hp....after all it's a testosterone thing.

All bikes these days are fast....people should just get the one they like the most and enjoy all the other brands offerings as well. Every company brings something unique to the table and while the new kawi may not be as big in the hp dept it is no slouch and I still bet the electronics are going to be pretty kick ass.

I'll take a bmw and a zx10 if someone wants to give me one. Both are going to be cool bikes to have.

Nope, not my info. It comes from the ZX10 board. They claim to have inside info. If there is genuinely piston and ring problems and frames cracked, they may just scrap the bikes. In a SA mag, they said that production in Japan is also on hold. Wish someone would tell the story. MCN posted a conversation discussed with KHI in the UK and the guy said there was a problem with the motor. Who knows really? Remember, the early internet runour was that the S1RR engines came from China

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the reported high rpm engine problem in MCN on the new ZX10r is true.

The piston speed is too high and the thing is falling apart. 26m/s for a piston is ridiculous. A tuned BSB bike can only manage that with Titanium rods and expensive pistons, then they need rebuilding every 2000miles some even sooner.

Its not sustainable for a road bike.

No wonder they are keeping quiet............Go and redesign the engine lol

I feel like I am at a football game.....

"my team has Tom Brady, so we are the best", "no my team has Michael Vick, we are the best".

It's like fantasy football motorcycle style....lol

If you notice all the ZX10 lovers all say the same thing. "Im glad that Kawasaki is fixing the problem up front instead of letting the problem go to the customer, like the BMW ( cams, transmission, or what ever they heard of) Mighty nice of them to make a f***ed up bike to start with and fix it later. Yes its nice they are fixing the problem, THEY HAVE TO! This is a BMW forum so as being sided twards the S1000RR is expected. As far as a football team the BMW is the Superbowl Champ till someone defeats it (looks like its not happening soon). I love my Bike.

Not a single sentence about it.
