Reading pages 49-51 of the manual and trying to follow that recipe. Are this bikes coming with a "set" setup for a certain weight?..and we have to adjust from there? or is it all over the place with each bike having a different preload from the factory?
I asked my dealer when I picked up the bike and he said just ride it a while and then visit an "expert" to set it up for you
send your weight and usage to dave moss and he will give you an ideal setup.i've been twiddling with the adjusters for several months then i tried his advice a couple of weeks ago and now my bike is transformed
Hey Kamran, does it give you the correct amount of sag when you start it up and then sit on it? I would think that there should also be a bit of "free" sag too? Kind of weird to get used to, it's frozen solid when the key is off.
Any dealer you buy a new bike from should be able to set the sag for you. If they cant then I wouldnt buy a bike from them. They should set it up as part of selling you the bike. It will take them 15 minutes.
Street- 2014 BMW HP4
Track/Race- 2015 BMW S1000rr/ 2016 Kawasaki ZX-10R- the usual race mods.
Im adjust preload now with a friend, we have the adjusters all the way out and we still cant meet the requirements the manual says, its like Im to light for the bike but that sure the hell is not true.
We cannot meet preload standards, we can only get the sag 3/4 inch at most
