Based on readings on a Dynojet 250 dyno, NOT based on the stock tach or Speedo. Stock gearing stock Metz Tire

All at redline 14,000RPM

1st 90 MPH
2nd 112MPH
3rd 134 MPH
4th 153 MPH
5th 169 MPH
6th 185 MPH
Hmmm, more or less what my gear calculateor said. But surprisingly not what the GPS says. It is actually quite a bit longer on the GPS. 13900 in 6th the bike is actually doing 307 kph. Checked on 2 bikes with 2 different GPS's. I did not get it but that is the evidence. By the way, the red line may be at 14000, but the limiter is at 14200.

I used a piece of chalk to draw a mark on the rear tire. For the Metzeler Racetec K3. 32 psi., with rider weight added, rolled forward a few feet to transfer the marks to the pavement. I measured the distance between the marks with a tape to get the rolling circumference.

I put a piece of reflective tape on the rear tire and raised it off the ground with a bike lift. I put the bike in 6th gear and ran it up to an indicated 90 mph. An assistant used an optical tachometer to measure the rpm of the rear wheel from the reflective tape.

From these measurements I was able to make the following conclusions:

1.) The S1000RR tachometer on the instrument panel is about spot-on accurate.
2.) The speedometer is also very accurate, reading only 1.6% high at 90 mph.

I was able to derive the maximum speed in gears at 14,000 rpm as follows:

1st - 93 mph
2nd - 117 mph
3rd - 142 mph
4th - 163 mph
5th - 180 mph
6th - 194 mph

193mph by GPS, zero wind, 170lb rider, PCV and AR-CS exhaust on my 2010 bike. Have not topped out my 2012...yet :)
