i was able to remove mine with out dealer or GS911
and i have a 2013 model
so ur all wrong

Lol! Dealer removal at 600 miles is still way cheaper.
Plus it will be on record with BMW for warranty purpose.
Can also be remove right with the Alpha race ecu right also. Then you can set your own rev limits. Just be careful the engine might go boom!
I don't know if that counts.
