I know it would be easier and cheaper to Bore the engine , but after all the contravercy over the 81mm bore limit would be less likely to get shot down by the ruling body. More importantly stroking the engine would make for more torque and a wider power band allowing the extra power to get to the ground .
The Downside to stroking the engine is increased piston speed. Surprisingly, the CRT machines have had a good reliability record despite being the first year of competition.
