Thought I'd post up a cheap mod to temporarily relocate the front brake line block while a headlift stand is used. I know there are other solutions that permanently relocate the block off centerline.
I made 2 posts using 6mm stainless screws. One I drilled a .060" hole for putting a R clip through, the other is to just hold the block out of the way while the stand is in use. I made up a small lanyard so the R clip wouldn't drop and get lost.
AWESOME !!! I bought the pin for my hybrid stand and ran into this issue. Removed it while using it but was looking into potential options to relocate. Pictures aren't as clear. Can you get some clean closeups? Thanks in advance.
Yeah sorry about the pics, the site doesn't allow pics bigger than around 97kb
If you PM me your email I can send you the full size version that you can zoom in on
Thanks
The brake block relocation is just temporary while a stand is in use. Once the stand is removed the block goes back to the stock position and retained with the R clip. The only thing this design accomplishes really is a tool-less removal of the brake block.
