Between 2010 and 2014 there were 7 different wiring harnesses.
I had the BMW dealership install a replacement main wiring harness and afterwards the turn signals didn't work. They said that they couldn't figure out which of the 7 wiring harnesses I had without trial and error. While I can't imagine that answer is the right answer, I couldn't refute it.
The CANBUS system and overall ECU/wiring troubleshooting is a nightmare on this bike. I spent months and thousands of dollars doing it, and paid $2,400 for a brand new ECU from Germany, and replaced both wiring harnesses, and still didn't end up with everything working right.
In the catalogue there is only 1 partnumber to order. So what about 7 wiring harnesses? Only the ABS/TC button does not work, but this could also be because the ECU is not releasing them or is activating them. All sensors work (GS-911) speed sensors, angle sensor, etc...
bennymx if you are asking me, then yes, my bar switches were replaced under warranty and have been tested for proper voltage output. My problem is somewhere downstream...in the mysterious web of the wiring harness
That could also be a real problem..... i have been "finding" functionality by the old paperclip method. But this is bizar.....the wiring diagram (wire colours and function) would really help out ;-) But we will keep searching....
An other display solved the problem. See our thread Build our own WSBK. See you there? ;-)
