Default Gearshift Assist stopped working??

I'm on a 2010, and i've got less than 3800 miles.. i parked the bike for the winter and when i took it out again this season the gearshift assist no longer works.. i inspected the linkage and all the obvious mechanics of it and i cant seem to find any logical explanation. has anybody had any experience with this or maybe know a little more about why this could be occurring?

any help would be greatly appreciated i want my sweetheart back in perfect shape!

there is no clicking noise coming from that area when the clutch is activated. however i dont ever remember there being any clicking noise to begin with.. I cant seem to figure this out! It doesn't help that my local BMW dealer is infested with douchebags. They are rude, dishonest, and not very accomodating so it looks like im on my own.

on the clutch lever there is a micro switch that is activated when you pull the clutch lever in, this is known to cause problems with the quick shifter.
a way to test if this si the porblem is see if you can change modes on the bike from race to rain etc WITHOUT needing to pulll in the clutch if you can then that is the problem

Sorry I haven't had much free time to do much diagnostic work. I did change to aftermarket levers over the winter season, could that be part of the issue? the gearshift assist does work until very light throttle but only in 4,5,6. I can change the modes on the gauge cluster without operating the clutch. Any suggestions??

If you can change modes while the bike is moving then its probably your clutch micro switch as someonw else previously mentioned.

When the bike is stopped and in neutral you should be able to change modes without using the clutch.
