I want to hear how well does the stocks1k suspension do on the race track? Can it stand up to Advanced or Expert group? This would be for the non-electronic suspension. Post your thoughts.
What gen are you asking for? The 1st gen I found the rear to be acceptable for some laps. The front needed more rebound damping and new springs for my weight (86kgr).
I'm still a relative beginner to track riding, although my times would put me into Intermediate groups. I have no qualms with the suspension myself.
I know a few individuals who race who ride a S1000RR on stock suspension around the track. I will not pretend the stock suspension on our bikes is some racing marvel, but it's not exactly an economy suspension setup either.
I found the 2012 rear shoc pretty good, although the rebound damping was just barely adequate.
The front has soft springs from the factory, something like 0.9 kg, so depending will need to be changed out for fast track use. I used 1.05 and reduced air gap to get it into the ballpark.
I weigh about 74 kg without gear btw, and ran the bike like that in a few amateur races with decent results.
I just did my first race with a '15 RR with DDC, everything is stock except for springs. It held fine. I have been doing A (Expert) group track days for about 6 months now, no issues other than rear spring too soft and the right fork spring being too harsh.
I did a 1:48 as my best at Sonoma, there's room for improvement but I wasn't uncomfortable with the way the bike handled, I still feel I can get at least another half a second before I max out my comfort levels with it.
I can also report out on this. I ride the Advanced Group at my trackdays - about middle of that pack. Previous bike was a 2012 Aprilia RSV4 Factory with well tuned front stock forks and a new TTX on the back. Set up for track only and it handled well. Now, a 2015 RR with DDC. I would say it is perfectly fine . I have not felt held back by the suspension at all. Due to the massive increase in power, I cut a good 2 - 3 seconds off my previous best laptime on the Aprilia. SC2 tires in both cases and I have the forged wheels on the BMW. So far I've left the clickers on zero and am running in Slick mode. I do have the front fork sensor installed FWIW.

Yeah I need to get myself that 2D sensor lol, I can feel *some* shatter in the front sometimes, mostly when I start applying throttle on some long sweepers, I feel that sensor should be able to help a bit with that... Other than that, no problems.
I have the 2D sensor on mine as well. I found that for track days, I could get away without it, but for race weekends, it was a must. The DDC is a strange animal on the racetrack. I've been finding it disconcerting at full race pace; there's a moment of "out of shape" before it compensates. Disconcerting it is.
Welp, I found the edge of those limits this weekend. Absolute insanity to not have the 2D sensor in the front if you are racing. Thankfully I didn't crash but wow, it was kind of a bad weekend for me and I struggled a lot.
The short answer is YES, your suspension on a modern bike like the S1000RR is more than adequate all the way up thru A. MOST people are not good enough to outrun their stock suspension, even though improving it gives them more confidence. Go ride it.
I haven't had my 16' ddc on the track yet but I have a feeling I may out ride the suspension quickly.
If the sensor really helps then I will get it. I am not going full ohlins with this bike.
I do street riding as well.
