My personal recommendation is to throw fresh tires on and not risk scuffing a grand worth of body work.

I did a pretty long track day at JenningsGP here in Florida just a week ago on my stock contis (1,200 miles)...I ran 31 front and 28 rear at advice of a guy who tunes WSBK's. It was my first day on a track since I was a puppy and I slipped and slid all over the place...I have to say though as a former AMA expert license holder and with a little bit of flat track in my youth I kind of like the sliding on pavement...reminds me of flat track and my motocross days...you'll be fine, just don't think you are Rossi or Stoner...the contis slide was very easy to read I thought...just don't get too froggy....a little bit of sliding will teach you to ride.
