I just installed the Gotham 55W 6000K kit and used PIAA Xtreme White T10 168 bulbs for the running lights. The PIAAs are close enough for me but not a perfect match to my eye. Not quite white enough.

Awesome, I have the 55w 5000k kit, they rock! You'll love them!

I live out in the country where there are no street lights and they are a mandatory modification in my opinion.

quick question i have mine installed but it seems that i am blowing high beam fuses. the first one went from using the passing flasher so i changed it out and just left the high beam on. well i guess i must have hit it sometime riding and now it blew again. do i need a relay of some sort? maybe go with just a 10amp fuse instead of 7.5amp?? i dont want to end up frying something by upping the fuse when i could have just purchased a relay or something else. on the otherhand if i'm good with a .50cent fuse i would rather just do that.

for the people who dont want to bend the metal brackets what i did was i took my air grinder to the base plate hid. i wraped the bulb in paper towel that had a lil alcohol on it then grinded the base plate down to be thin

i had to do the same when i installed these in a gl 320 as well .

Rainman, fantastic job, very detailed and clear! Questions for you.. I just ordered a 55watt/8K bulb Low beam from DDM to see what it would look like on my HP4. Would you suggest I change my Hi beam also? You used 35watts and I can see the point now (about saving wattage for other future electricals, wish I knew this sooner, but can I use a 35watt for the Hi beam and stick with 55watt on the Low? Install should be the same for HP4 correct?

Thanks for the install instructions and for the answers (in advance)!

You're welcome. Since each light has it's own ballast, I don't see why you couldn't use one 55w and one 35w if you want. In reality, I don't use my hi-beam all that much except on really dark roads because the low beam does a great job and it does take a few seconds to get the hi-beam up to normal operating capacity so it's not a good "flasher".

Good luck.
