Ilmberger Vs BMW HP parts

I have HP parts on my badge holders and my engine spoilers that I bought used. My tank covers are Ilmberger. You can tell the difference if you look very close. The HP parts look smooth as glass and are gorgeous. The Ilmberger parts look great but you can see up close they are not as smooth as the HP. I'd go with Ilmberger had I not bought HP used.

Incorrect... Ilmberger does NOT make the BMW Carbon Fiber for BMW... Pretty sure that is Becker. I've spoke w/Julius (owner of Ilmberger)... and he makes damn nice stuff, but not the OEM stuff for BMW.

I emailed limberger about the belly pan for the HP4 and this was the reply:

Hello,

thank you very much for your enquiry and your interest in our products.

We are producing now a new carbon bellypan for the HP4. It�s going to be a
special designed part. I think in the next 6/8 weeks we will have the new
bellypan.

It will have the same carbon structure as the original BMW carbon part.

As soon as we have new information, we also update our homepage.

Their current belly pan for s1krr is selling at 529 euro. Hope the one for hp4 wouldnt be much more

For those who ever purchased from Ilmberger, is their shipping cost reasonable? And for oversea orders do they subtract the 19% of VAT off ur order?

Yes, they remove the VAT and it's 60 euros for shipping, pretty much no matter the size.

They're very good about all that... and you also might try contacting Hard Racing they are an online/forum Vendor that in the past has sold Ilmberger. If they don't have it, you can contact the main US importer - Sierra BMW and talk to Tom over there.

No, Akrapovic makes BMW HP Carbon parts.

Too bad they don't put on badging on a lot of parts, but some CF parts have the small Akrapovic brand sticker on them.

I put all the Akra carbon on my CBR they made for it. It is the nicest I have ever seen. One thing I like about the Akrapovic parts is the small logo they have on them, but I am a big fan of Akra. If BMW is using Akra I know it's going to be great.

Unfortunately there is no deal to be had... They are all used parts off of a show bike... I got the placard holder, the tank holders (4 pieces) for $300 shipped...

There was 1 light scuff in one placard holder which i just polished out... good as gold...
