Default Luimoto Seat Cover Install - Front and Back

This is barely worth doing a DIY write-up on due to it's simple install. Plus the instructions that come with the seat covers are VERY good. The key is to have a little patience and if you have a spare pair of hands, it helps. More so on the rear seat since it is smaller. I don't run w/rear pegs (nor a passenger) so I'm not sure I'll keep the rear on all the time or stick w/the rear cowl instead.

Let me know your opinion on which looks better:

Rear Cowl ----OR---- Rear Matching Seat

Tools Needed:
- Small Flat Screw Driver (to remove the staples)
- Needle Noose Pliars (to remove the staples)
- Manual or Electric Staple Gun - I actually found that the manual worked better for this application.
- Some larger paper clips - the big black ones (this helps hold the new cover to the seat while you staple it in
- Philips Screw Driver - Needed if you're doing the rear seat
- 10mm socket/ratchet - Needed if you're doing the rear seat

Rear Seat:
1) Remove Seat and Hardware from seat (rear lock and front hardware) This requires a philips screw driver and a 10mm socket respectively.
2) Remove strap from rear seat (10mm bolts hold it on)
3) Remove staples holding upholstery on
4) Install Luimoto Cover and follow the instructions provide. (The paper clips definitely come in handy!!)

Front Seat:
1) Remove Seat
2) Remove staples holding upholstery on
3) Install Luimoto Cover and follow the instructions provide.

The fit and quality are outstanding. Haven't gone for a ride yet (20*F out ).

Again, let me know which combo you think fits the bike better (Luimoto front w/rear cowl --OR-- Luimoto front w/matching Luimoto rear)

I'm going to say the rear cowl looks better. The driver seat looks great though.

Looks great. Maybe remove the strap from the rear seat to clean it up, but I prefer the cowl.

Since you have carbon fiber bits on your bike, I'd go with a carbon seat cowl and the carbon upper tank cover.

I was kinda of the same opinion. The rear looks cool (for a seat)... but for the overall bike, especially since I don't even have rear pegs, I like the cowl.

I had thought about the CF top piece for the tank, but I honestly like the white with the little "RR" Motografix decal I had them make that sits on top.

I really like the main seat and how it turned out.

I agree go with the cowl over the seat!! That front seat looks great..what do you think that seat would look like with my bike being all carbon?...do they make any different color variations?

With your decal display on the tailsection I like the rear seat upholstery with the black segment. The all white cowl looks out of place and doesn't flow visually from the front seat. As Pappy said, lose the strap and you may like the look of the rear seat better.

I just left my original cover on and placed the luimoto cover over the original. I like the angles on the original cover better. They compliment the bike. The luimoto smooths the angle out a lot. Hope the fake suede holds up.
