Default Fading anodized red aluminum

I know the anodized red aluminum has been fading from being in the sun, but I have no choice to leave it in the sun all day while I'm at work. Has anyone seen covers for these adjustment screws (sorry if there's a proper name for it, I don't know it)? I was adjusting it yesterday and saw just how bright and RED it originally was. I doubt there's anyway to get the faded part back, but at least prevent it from getting worse?

If you work in an industrial enviroment, i`ve seen and used (for other applications) in the likes of new pumps etc, blocking plastic bungs for pipe threads, inlets etc...maybe can find those...Or, find some black thick walled hose that will fit snuggly over them, cut to length and glue a disk of the same hose to block off the tops, that would do meantime...cheap and cheerful..but effective...

buy a cheap bike cover and keep it at work so its not in the direct sun all day. other parts will start to fade or crack over time. u can use a metal polish with UV protect-ant also. might get some of the color back and stop it from getting worse

A cover is a good idea. I've never gotten one just to avoid the hassle of taking 30 seconds of putting it on Maybe I can get my work to build a car port Thanks for the ideas.

How do you wash the bike? Don't ever hose it or pressure wash! I always clean the bike in sections using a microfibre cloth with Autoglym shampoo, just wipe the dirty areas starting from the tank and work your way down.after bike is clean use a good polish on all parts including those red anodised parts! If you use a good polish the sun won't fade it! I've never had a problem on any of my bikes with fading.
My sp1 was 10 years old but looked more like 1 year old! But maybe the beemer ones fade more? Time will tell,I've only done 1300 miles.

I've pressure washed it a couple times, but I usually do it in my driveway with a hose and towel. Does pressure washing mess up anodized aluminum? I've never paid attention to waxing/polishing those parts, but I use Rejex on the rest of the bike. Great stuff.

I doubt it,but I think using a pressure washer you are blasting water into places that would be hard to reach. I use a detail spray on the small areas, and always 3stage wax mine,it takes time but your bike will always look new and next time you come to clean her it will be so much easier!
