Default Cracked headlight fairing

Light grey 2011. Crashed it into tools while pushing into garage. The right side tab at the lowest most rearward part cracked at the torx fastener. Not noticeable except by me, no vibration while riding.

I put a piece of tape between the upper fairings and the headlight fairing.

Should I ignore, replace with OEM, or replace with carbon fiber?

Difficult to say without pictures, but why not fix it with Bondo or something similar from your local hardware store?

I'd say the last 1-2" of the plastic are disintegrated. I would have to reconstruct the tab that include 3 angles and then make it mesh with existing fairing. Bondo/glass, sand and paint. I'm not good with body work. Just looks easier to bolt on something new.

It was bugging me bad enough so I called Nick at motowheels.

I am now going CF with the headlight fairing and upper fairings. I think CF is a gateway drug and will probably wind up adding more pieces over time. Couldn't see paying $600 for an OEM fairing and then needing it painted.

Glad to support a site sponsor and vendor.
