Default Lightech chain Adjuster Question -URGENT

A dumb question i know, but when using the standard rear axle nut with the llightech chain adjusters do i have to put the washer back on in between the nut and adjuster ?
The Gilles nut doesnt use the standard washer but would assume yes with the standard nut ?

Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure you do need the washer. I used it with mine. The only thing about that is, when you're looking at the marks you have to use the ones at the back/front because the washer covers the ones in the middle.

I have a Gilles safety nut on mine and didn't use a washer. Haven't had any problems to this point.

No, I think this is the correct installation...

The silver head of the mounting bolt is clearly visible on the left. If you mean the black screw holding the adjuster bolt captive, it's flush with the retaining nut on the bottom right of the adjuster body and wouldn't be visible from this angle.

At least I hope it's the correct installation. It's exactly the way I installed mine!

Oddly, my original washer does not obscure the markings on the middle of the axle carrier. They are justmvisible above and below the washer.

For those of you not using a washer, have you noticed if the axle nut is galling the face of the axle carrier?

BTW, 1K bimmer, that adjuster/spool/wheel stripe combo looks good. For those who haven't seen them in person, it's surprising how unobtrusive the chain adjusters are to the overall look of the bike. The closeup photos make it appear a bit overwhelming, but when you see the whole bike, they add a nice little splash to the rear wheel., especially on the TG, where the gold/red accents are quite obvious but essentially stop at the rear shock.

In my case, the silver mounting bolt somehow wiggled loose and fell out on the right hand side. There was no danger of the wheel falling out because the axle nut was well-torqued and held in place with a spring clip. However, I went to Ace Hardware and bought two longer stainless steel bolts (M8, I think) and replaced the lightech OEM bolts, this time using a bit of loctite. Just sayin' you need to be careful with these bolts.
