Post carbon fibre, not bmw!

So, besides the overpriced BMW CF bits, anybody has found a quality alternative available today?

I've not ventured into the CF Market for my S1k yet but I've had Ilmberger stuff on previous bikes and was really happy with the quality.

Lots of carbon bits on Fleabay...

Just do a search for s1000rr carbon.

Also Carbon King is a starting to do stuff for the bimmer, at a good price.

SSR (Slingshot Racing) ... is Fiberglass base with CF overlay. I haven't found a person yet that can tell, even though I'm upfront about it.

As per the company, it does have a UV protectant coating to prevent yellowing.

It isn't cheap but it's proper pre-preg carbon fibre rather than fibreglass with a a single sheet of carbon laid on top. If all you're looking for is the appearance of proper carbon fibre then it's great but if you're looking for good quality stuff Ilmberger is good and it's still cheaper than BMW's which may well be made for them by Ilmberger (or maybe not). King Carbon is also pretty good and a bit cheaper.

So Phil,... what part of the Northwest is Manchester from? Washington? Oregon? Idaho?, Northern Cali?

Oh, I see ,... Northwest England.

Just kicking your tires, sport. I was just hoping to meet a new guy from my part of the USA when I saw the subforum. That's OK, there's plenty of room for "Northwest anywhere" here. Looks like the guys have you covered your question for carbon.

FYI, our Pacific Northwest Riders forum members had one of our monthly Motorcycle Maintenace Meets today at a local Kawi dealership. Real nice of them. Free dyno pulls, free suspension tuneups, other deals going on. Maybe 50 people - (all makes and models) showed up by noon when I took off, and there were 4 S1000RRs there. A new record showing. We were representing well.

Cheers
