Default 3M Carbon Vinyl

I saw a buddy at work today with what seems to the naked eye, and feels like carbon fiber hood. He told me that it was a vinyl by 3M that a local shop will custom install. I swear I could feel the weave! Has anyone ever tried this? I like the look of the carbon fiber but I don't like the idea of spending $3500 replacing the black plastics with the real thing.

Here's their link.

Thumbs up

Great stuff! I tried a 4X4 inch square on my faded Akra can to test. After a year of riding every day lol, exposed to the elements etc it still looked like new!

Its used by custom shops for all manner of application with great success!

I used it on the nose of my race bike to make the bodywork look more like the stock plastics:

It's not ricey because under the paint, the bodywork is carbon fiber ...
