Default LED running/plate lights

Forgive me if this is redundant.

Anyone running LED's for running/plate lights? do they all need resistors? Just wondering what some of you may be using. TIA

Yoshimura Tail Tidy plate light is LED, and simple to connect to stock plate light wires.

I was hoping to see an answer on this as I am in the process of cleaning up the tail of my bike. I guess we will have to try to know.

I was just wondering if some of the LED clustered 194 style bulbs that are widely available could be used as direct replacements without throwing the warning light. If the Yohshi tail tidy doesn't then maybe so. Guess I will find out soon enough!

The plate light doesn't need resistors. However, if you're using after market turn signals, they do need to be the correct resistance. Some generic ones have had issues. A number of folks including myself are running the Watsen Design flush mount fronts and rears - they do have the correct resistance, similar as factory.

The running lights up front also need to have correct resistance (the ones in the headlight area). You can pick up some blue tinted ones from AutoZone that light up white in color (similar to HIDs) for cheap... there are also some threads on here where folks have had good luck w/some specific brands of LEDs... not sure which ones though, a quick search should find them.

Thanks! I know you have a Comp.werks plate light and was hoping you'd chime in. I'll see if I can't find what others are using through the search.

These error free T10 bulbs have built in resistors. I'm using them on my bike, error free.

Default T10 LED side Light 56 Lumen 'Match your HID Lights'

Man, I spent around $40+ buying these from the UK

Motorbike Adventures Supply and Fit Motorcycle HID Lights HID's Metal Mule Panniers, Autocom & Starcom

Installed them on the bike, they looked great, in NY we had a nice day so took the bike out for a run, both of these T10 lights burned out within 1 hour.

My DDM's HID are misfiring also, I think im just gonna install the PIAA's

Thanks for the Link Bud!! Looks like they project more light on the vertical pane rather than Horizontal. That's alright though since the reflectors can do their job and HID headlights would probably drown them out anyway.
