carbon seat cowl fitment ?
Hi all , this is one or anyone who has bought the rear carbon seat cowl .
bit the bullet and bought a genuine caron fibre rear seat pod / cowl and came to fit it today and noticed two things ,
1) the quality of the carbon is lovely
2) the quality of fit is SHITE
read the instructions and it gives ya the option to add washers if the cowl is too close to the rear unit , but doesnt say there is any way to get it closer , as there is a fair old gap down the sides .
Is this just how it is , as i expected a closer / better fit from a genuine BMW accessory at £316 !!

If it's any consolation, the non-carbon ones (the paint matched ones) have the slight gap too.

Figured you'd feel much better about it... Even my stock rear seat has a gap... not sure who was in charge of the tail part of the bike (seat and cowl), but they didn't do so well.

I thought about putting a bead of silcone in the open areas/gaps, but figure for the amount of water that will find it's way in, it'll just drain down the sides and back out... so never did anything about it.

I fiddled with mine till I got it really tight. I took the plastic bit off the lock plate and bent it up a bit to get it to pull tight at the rear. To put it on you need to locate the tabs and then hold the front against your palm so the hooks rotate around the pins instead of the cowl pulling back. I will take a pic and post my fit.
