Default Sargent seat

Just received email from Sargent that their S1000 seat is available. Has anyone actually seen or tested one yet? Here's a pic. Advance phone order price is $269.

Default Sargent seat, etc.

I guess I'll respond to my question. Seat is very good, noticeable improvement in comfort (comfort not best word for this bike) and looks good too. Here's a pic along with seat cowl, HP rearsets, Vario levers, CF hugger.

Got mine last week...better than stock, but still not perfect. I will put another 500 miles on it this weekend and maybe it will break in perfectly. (my ass not the seat)

Just got home....put 650 miles on the seat this weekend. Works much better than stock.

What color of blue did you order for the welt on your seat? There are several different blues on the Sargent website. Seat looks good! How is the comfort now?

Question: Does it raise or lower the actual seat height of the bike?

Feels slightly lower to me. The seat has a lot more "dish" to it than stock.

My Sargent has transformed the seating position of the bike for the better, but I did a 350-mile day yesterday and was a little disappointed that the foam seemed to be pretty flat by the end of the day and there seemed to be a lot more heat coming through the seat. I'm also annoyed that Sargent ditched the battery retainer standoff that the stock seat has - I fashioned a shim to hold the battery down.

Thanks Mark, that's good to know. I'll probably wait for a bit to see what the reviews are like. I get stuck in the heat on my commute every once in a while and more heat is not so fun in the summer. Let us know how you feel long term on that thing.

I got a seat from Ballzmotorsports. Price $160. You send them your stock seat and they re-upholster it. I had them add 2 centimeters of foam (or whatever) because I wanted to increase the seat to peg distance. The BMW is rather cramped in this regard compared to my R6. They do the job quickly and the shipping is included in their price. It looks good. You can see a photo on their website. They also create a 2"x 3" rise at the rear so you don't slide back. I have yet to do anything like your 350 mile day. It worked fine for a track day at Thunderhill.
