Default Race Tail: Fitted with Lights

To be honest, I can't stand spangly anodised bolts or needless carbon and all that, mods done here are mainly in aid of more feel, less weight, more accel, but seeing as its bodywork I've put it in here. Anyway this is the Alpha Racing stock subframe race tail, cut and worked on to fit the stock light.

Also made up my own plate/indi bracket and redid the wiring accordingly. Gone is the big squishy seat, the race tail mounts on a fibreglass / carbon kevlar box section.

Tank fairing is also alpha racing, making a small carbon infill panel to connect the ends up (where the tabs are).

Also has a +1 / -1 520 chain conversion, PCIII & full Akra, renthal grips, pazzos, bonamici rearsets, tall screen, alpha front mudguard.

Better photos when I get a bit of sunshine.

On the sprocket topic, after reading 1000rr's post i did a 520 conversion and went -1/+1 and I love it. It just feels like you have the power on tap instantly. Much better driving in town. I did it mostly for the track, but won't have a chance to try it there until may.

Yes... still using the original 525. I put the 16t (-1) front on at about 800 miles or so... then picked up a very lightly used 46t (+2) rear and installed at about 2,300 miles.

Did putting -1 on the front change the handling noticeably? (due to moving the rear wheel back a bit).

If so is it worth doing both sprockets at once because of the above reason?

If I change both sprockets should I change the chain as well?

Thanks for the help.

Change in the wheelbase is minimal, and no greater than you will have to adjust for chain stretch anyway. I wouldn't say this is an adjustment that normal road riding could show up much. Personally I don't think it's made the bike any better in town, but it does accelerate like a jet fighter now, everything feels more urgent.

1000RR: normally they would fit into the non-stock subframe racetail, but as it stands I will have to make a panel for this section. I have some carbon sheet, making up templates shortly.
