Default Ilemberger Belly Pan

Well after two weeks waiting the Bellypan came in from Austin racing. It looks like they have plugged the existing holes with a rubber plug and drilled new holes so it mounts to the bike...What i noticed after trying to put it on was that behind the carbon between the frame and the carbon there is a gap of 3/4 inch maybe 1/2 on the other side? Am i sopused to fill that gap with something like a rubber gromet or somthing?

Then the holes in the front that align to the OE plastics really have to be moved around before they align correctly...it seems like pushing up and back gets them aligned correctly....is the front plastics below the oil cooler that has a layered intake go inside the new carbon belly pan? i think it does im just not sure becuase it seems like the plastics dont want to align easly like the OEM ones do...any insight from anyone that has this installed would be great....any ideas for the gap too would be a life saver.....

Got the Austin Racing belly pan for the street (not race), and Illemberger upper parts . Zero connection problems, no gaps. Are you sure you didn't order the race version?

no it is the race version, but that shouldnt matter. The only diffrence is the bottom is inclosed and used with aftermarket exhaust. I will give it another try tomorrow...

I got mine from Ilmberger (or at least the English distributer) and got a fitting kit. Basically i cut the radiator shrouds fitted the top 2 fixings with the standard bolts and then a bracket from the fitting kit for either side for the fixings by the footrests. fits straight on no problem, can take it off and on within seconds

Default finally put on

I got mine from austin racing and they had the OE holes pluged and drilled new holes. The new holes were not perfectly aligned so im not sure what was going on here. I fitted the front on then pushed the back around until i was able to align it correctly then tightened everything down. IM looking for a better way to be able to fit this on and have the front align better.....open to sugestions..the front has some gaps im not sure if its the front shrouds are big or if i have to cut them?

You need to use the little spacers from the stock pan that fit inside the rubber grommets. I think you can use the entire grommet if you wish. Put it between the carbon and the frame and the longer screw throgh the spacer into the frame.

I fitted 2 AR pans for friends and neither of them had the rubber grommets or relocated holes. Neo, have you changed pans?

Nigel,
thanks for the info..I actually tried that last night and noticed they fit perfectly, once i put the rubber grommets on....then i purchased two small rubber grommets for the outside so the carbon is squeezed between them...perfect!..feel solid and looks great..thanks

someone else from this forum told me last week that the OE holes are plugged and new holes are drilled....They were right...The new holes are not perfectly aligned, but manageable. You can see the plug in the picture below..not a bad idea save paying for the mount kit!
