Hard not to keep shopping with so many options that are available.
I just picked up a Scorpio RLINK SR-I1100SE GPS alarm after someone commented on my bike walk-a-round video that someone would steal the bike in a heart beat!
Now there are only two things left for me, but I am trying to rationalize the purchases since they are very costly.
- BST Wheels
- Bitubo Suspension

i had a alarm on the old bike, but to be honest if they want your bike they will take it no matter what alarm is fitted, here in the uk they just put jcb inner tubes through the front and rear wheels and carry them off in to a sound proofed van....as for the bst theres no point unless you are on track with them or they are for the bling affect then i dont see the point if they are just for bling.??? been there and done that on the bling thing and total waste of money unless you racing, had a mate who had them on one of his road bike and he still wasnt as quick as me on the road or track..??? i would go k-tech or ohlins for suspension..my 2 cents worth..

That is what the GPS is for. The minute the bike is moved it calls the cell and home phone and sends the alert, then I call the police and they can track the bike. It also has proximity and tilt to alert me as well.

Great to be alerted when a theft is in progress, but if you're busy and don't answer the phone, will the GPS work if the bike is in an enclosed space like the back of a truck? It still needs contact with satellites doesn't it? Thieves try to stay one step ahead of technology..... I think the bike pretty much won't start without the key, so any thief will have a transport vehicle. Good insurance is the best I can do.

I have my cell phone on me while at work and this is the information that is sent. I don't think it would work through metal, but the minute it is out of a van, it would be tracked. My GPS on my Garmin works while in my house. So, I think that the thief would eventually be found or at least clues to their location could be seen.

rLiNK detects location, movement, speed, shock, tilt and ignition status. This information is transmitted through a data cellular connection to our secure tracking server, which you can access with our free iPhone application or with any smartphone or computer.

It gives me piece of mind at least. I would also be happy to know if the bike tips over while in the parking lot or if someone is messing with it.
One other feature is alerting authorities if you are in an accident and sending help. I have this on my BMW M3 and it is very helpful.

I think people are forgetting the point of an alarm... its a theft deterrent.
You are right regardless if someone wants it they will take it. But having a siren or audible noise will cut down atleast 60% of those people who would take it. GPS works just like any cell phone so even if its under the backseat of your car you will still get a signal. I have Lojack on my motorcycle also but i plan to get the rlink. So between the lojack and rlink I will have a reasonable attempt to locate my property.

The various GPS mapping tools I use need to see a satellite to function, not a cell phone relay tower, so I think you're mistaken about that.
