Default What would you do...

So I usually am glad to get the first few dings on a bike to get it over with, and having been incredibly lucky after almost dropping it off a u haul once and another time cracking the lower left fairing on the bed of a pick up (replaced fairing) I have little to complain about. However, a little while ago while moving a ladder around my garage, I scratched the swing arm pretty good (careless I know) it looks pretty bad though on an otherwise flawless bike...so if you were me would you buy another swing arm (used If I can find), or powdercoat the one I have black (which means I have to get my tank painted to match and lose the original look of the TG bike...the powdercoat would work well if I added some 2012 bits however and I would take it even further by getting the pegs and heel guards done too, but a mint late production 2010 has its appeal, especially in the resale market. If I paint, I may as well keep bike I'm thinking. Idk, opinions?

"Scratched up pretty pretty good" is up for interpretation. Does that mean it's scratched so badly that it can't be repaired/repainted to original?

If you want to keep your original Thunder Grey color scheme, I think the first thing to do is get it to a professional who can take a look at it and give you your options.

It sounds like you want to make some changes anyway, and that could be a fun winter project.

To be honest I like the thunder grey, however I have the crappy brown colour of the tank and swinger. I would use it as a good excuse to get them both painted the colour they should have been in the first place.

Just ride it, who cares if there is a scratch in the swing arm

Bikes are for riding, it's not a fashion show....

you can just pop on some carbon swingarm covers, cover up your scar & looks badass.

I would buy a new/used one... + ohlins rear shock since swingarm goes off anyway... I wouldn't cover it with cf, cause it allways would be in my mind that there is a scratch there underneath...

Whilst i probably agree with you, for most of us its a road bike, track bike second. The old saying, 'if you dont crash you aint trying hard enough' is more than likely true (for racing), but, i for one cant afford to keep binning it. Yes, its been down but crash savers have more than paid for themselves meaning i can replace, clean it up and ride out with my mates with pride and look forwood to the next track day. Its a no win situation, if you have an indifferent day you cant wait to get back out and improve, if you have a good day you cant wait to get out for some more !!!!!!
