Rizoma Mirrors (Your thoughts?)
So, in another thread, I said I would take pictures and address my two concerns with the mirrors.
First, there is little room for adjustment with the way the mirror articulates. So, you need to get it right where you want it and then tighten everything down.
Second, there needs to be a plate between the mirror and rubber grommet so the perch doesn't get pulled through the fairing when tightening. See pic #3. Would anybody have any suggestions on where I might get a black plate that I could either drill two holes in or that would be easily cut into shape? It needs to be the same foot print as the stock mirror base.
Other than these two complaints the mirrors look great and make the bike appear a little more sleek. So, I am happy to have them.

Rizoma makes some quality products...but $300 for a set of mirrors is not worth it in my opinion...
But they sure look good...

I have plates like you are describing for my RC51. I have not looked to see if the hole size is the same for the mirrors on the two bikes. They are cheap mirror blockoff plates that I bought for that bike and used them vice my expensive block offs because they are thin and I could hide them under the mirrors when I had them on. I'm not at home but if someone could figure out if the hole sizes are the same on the two bikes I'm sure I can find them on eBay, cheap.

Thanks. Block off plates would actually be great idea. Cheaper the better. Let me know what you find out. Thanks again.

I have not seen any definitive information posted on the performance of these mirrors.
Please, most importantly can you tell us:
How are the view in the mirrors? Are they less susceptible to vibration like the stock ones. Can you effectively adjust them to get a better rear view?
Using the stock mirrors I have to tuck my elbows and adjust engine speed to reduce the vibrations in mirror to get a marginally operative rear view.
The Rizoma mirrors might be expensive but if they are more effective than the stock ones, it might be worth the investment. I do think that they look pretty nice.

Pretty much the same as stock for vowing. Have not ridden the bike yet to tell you about vibration. I did see an extender that I may get that will move the mirror out an inch. I'll update in the future about performance.

Have you had a chance to get a ride in and any update on the effectiveness and performance of the mirror mod yet?
