Default 2012 tail on a 2010

will it fit???

Mines slightly damaged and gonna go for a Ilmberger Carbon one when they come out as long as it fits.

I'm sure the rear subframe is unchanged, not too sure on the light

Anyone have any answers?

Thanks

The only thing I can think of is the 'tail piece to seat interface'. The 2010 seat sticks out in the rear on the sides, making a smooth transition to tail piece, but the 2012 has a smaller interface there (narrower), so may need a different seat. So I guess, buy a custom seat, or get the 2012 OEM seat. Not sure about this, but thats what it looks like to me from pics.

Not sure about light, I would think it would be the same.

I agree, the seat may be the problem, however I think I prefer the 2010 tail piece anyway.

Me too. I've got wires on one side, tool kit on other and PCV, autotune and alarm in center. I don't see how any of that will fit in the '12.

i've heard that the new tail will require the new seat...everything else should be the same.

of course, no one will really know utnil the 12's show up and someone retrofits it. when the new bikes are out, i'll try the swap if no one else has

I would be interested in knowing if the seats are interchangable as well.

My experience says the only thing that has changed between the pre-12 and the 2012 is they lopped off the ears on the 2012 seat. (I'm hoping anyway.)

But I need to make sure by seeing the bottom the the 2012 seat.
