Default Öhlins BMW S1000RR Suspension Components

It has been said that you’ll never know what good suspension is until you’ve tried it! To that end, Öhlins simply makes the finest equipment you can buy when it comes to suspension components for your S1000RR. With performance in mind, every millimeter of these parts is engineered to provide the rider with maximum feel that can be tuned precisely through a wide range of adjustment. And, in extreme cases where adjustment of the included springs and/or suspension valving isn’t enough, a myriad of options are available to please even the most demanding rider.

We have a wide variety of suspension packages available to suit any requirement. Call TJ at 866.931.6644 ext 817 to find out how we can help you get noticeable improvements in the handling of your BMW S1000RR.

Superstock legal for most racing organizations, a TTX shock coming with 30mm NiX internal fork cartridges are a potent combination that will not go unnoticed in terms of the handling performance of your S1000RR!

Öhlins 30mm cartridge kits are each built for a specific task: the left fork leg houses the compression valve and the right fork leg controls rebound damping. Both sides are preload adjustable. Internally, there is very little difference between the two units, basically their piston, check valve and shim stack arrangements are in reverse to each other. By dedicating each internal 30mm fork cartridge to a specific direction with respect to damping force, a higher degree of fine tuning is available to the rider.

These cartridges completely replace the OEM fork caps on your S1000RR with gorgeously machined pieces that are clearly labeled for their adjustment purpose. We are using these very same fork internals on our S1000RR racebike so as to comply with WERA superstock racing rules.

Don’t forget to add an adjustable steering damper to your S1000RR.

Unlike suspension designs from other manufacturers, Öhlins TTX shocks use the same principle as those of their fork cartridges with separate valves for controlling compression and rebound circuits. In other words, making a change to one has no direct effect on the other which permits a higher degree of tuning flexibility.

TTX36 shock comes from the factory ready to accept data acquisition components. Here, you can see the adjustable-for-length lower shock clevis is pre-drilled to mount a linear potentiometer.

Complementary threaded holes can be found at the top of the shock body for your preferred DAQ setup.

RidersDiscount.com can put together an Öhlins suspension package specifically for your needs. Call TJ today!

So when the cartridges go in; compression moves to one fork leg, rebound to the other, and the OEM compression clickers on the fork bottoms just stop doing anything, right?

Hmmmm.... must - resist - temptation

BTW TJ, got the Ohlins shock you hooked me up with for my track bike (R6). Thanks again!

What TJ hasn't really mentioned is that he was a seasoned racer too (not too slow either ). He gave me some setup numbers (I'll use as a starting point/baseline) based on his days racing the R6. Not only does he partake in setting up their (RDs) race bikes but he's been there and done that too (raced). He's got a lot of great information and suggestions based on experience if you have questions... Similar w/others over at their shop too!

In all seriousness, they have no effect on anything, everything is done through the adjustments on the fork caps. A lot of people have been asking Öhlins to make a cap for it and maybe we'll see that in the future. Until then, we just leave them alone.
