Default Akrapovic S1000RR Evo “Shorty” Exhaust Systems

The “Shorty” exhausts from Akrapovic maintain the same look of the OEM system yet relieves your bike of the weight of a catalytic convertor and its associated plumbing. Constructed entirely of titanium, from the headers back..

These are not yet available on our website, just call TJ at 866.931.6644 ext 817 to get one of these exhausts shipped to you today. You can also email your questions to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with the subject line BMW AKRA SHORTY and we will get back to you right away.

The Evolution Line Full System with shorty muffler.

The shorty muffler has a carbon-fiber endcap made of pre-preg CF. The endcaps are placed in a mold, vacuum bagged and cured in an autoclave. Unlike some exhaust manufacturers, Akrapovic not only designs, but also builds all of their own carbon fiber so they control quality from start to finish.

Akrapovic headers have a balancer pipe between cylinders 2 and 3 to improve low-end power output.

Akrapovic uses TIG welding methods both, by hand and by machine to assemble these exhausts; humans doing the work only where machines cannot. Machine or not, it’s still hard to tell what – or who, exactly, did these welds.

Barely visible in this photo is the weld on this shorty muffler’s sleeve, same goes for the weld that mates the downtube to the muffler’s endcap.

The Akrapovic Shorty Full System installed (minus clamp between the muffler and the downpipe). It re-uses the stock mounting point for hold the muffler in place.

It is recommended that you change the mapping to take full advantage of this exhaust.
