Another MotoGP round at Mugello always means another special Drudi Designs helmet for Valentino Rossi. The Doctor is always known for his out-there lids, but this year’s design was especially eye-catching – please excuse the bad pun. Now available from Riders Discount is the new limited edition AGV GP-Tech Valentino’s Eye helmet.
We all know that Rossi’s first season on the Ducati didn’t go quite as well as planned, but this didn’t stop him from sending a message with his Mugello helmet. The Doctor issued two quotes regarding the meaning of the eye.
The first refers to his 2010 crash at Mugello that resulted in a compound fracture of his leg: “Look out, Mugello can hurt you.”
The second is a notice about his future: “Watch out, because sooner or later things will turn around.”
In addition to the giant blue eye dominating the top of the helmet, the Drudi design incorporates the Italian flag to pay tribute to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, the sun/moon insignia, and as usual, Vale’s dogs.
