Default S1K track lowside video...thoughts?

Here's a video I came across and couldn't determine the reason for this guys lowside? Just wondering what some of you track junkies have to say?

Looking at the video I don't see any sign of chopping the throttle while turning...the drop in rpm happens after the rear slides out. On the other hand it looks like he gave throttle at excessive lean angle before the apex?

Either ways it looks like there was no wheel spin considering there's no sign of the DTC kicking in?

Thoughts?

Well, the back steps out first, so my guess is a track irregularity. He's accelerating out of the turn but not on the throttle very hard at all- barely more than maintenance. Certainly not enough to break traction under typical conditions.

Possibly his TC setting was overmatched to his tires? Could he have been running Q2s or something like that in slick mode? The TC would allow greater leeway than the tires could recover from if that were the case.

Whats wrong with Q2's, I think their a better tire than the conti's IMO.

I agree, turn one at jennings is very wide and many try to plant too much power on the small part of the rear tire. Body position looks off too, I cant run my gopro where he has his and still keep good position. He countersteered as well so if he caught traction it more than likely would have been an highside

If I had to pick out my top reasons:

1.) Horrible body position
2.) Cold tires/too much psi in them (hard)
3.) Cold track (again low grip)

But really looking at the footage you can tell by the guys wrists his body positioning is all crossed up and poor tires/conditions probably just compounded that issue.

Default Golden rule

Never add throttle and lean at the same time, never.

Accelerate by adding throttle after the apex.

I say Koby is right on all counts. Bike is leaning while rider is sitting straight up. Probably it was his first run around the track on cold tires.

Bad body position
excessive lean angle
ran out of traction due to cold tires
there is not enough info to tell by a video

ohh just a FYI, when you crash, LET GO of the bike!

EDIT: I just saw what Koby posted after i posted this.. soooo +1
