Default Super bike school track choice?

I want to sign up for the Keith Code Superbike School Two-day program for levels 1&2. I have zero track experience so I have no clue on which weekend to book because I don't know any of the available tracks.

Any suggestions on which track is better or would make for a better experience for the school and a first time track rider? I just don't want to guess and be disappointed by my luck of the draw tactics haha.

Thanks,

Tejas

I'm pretty much in the same train as you. However, I don't think it depends on where but rather on when. If you have the choice to ride when ever you want and travelling is no issue then Laguan Seca would be my choice. As far the quality of the course I think its top notch where ever you go.

I took 1 & 2 at Streets of Willow. I don't think that it would have been any better on any other tracks I have ridden. It is the concepts that you are learning and he is definitely an expert. I cant believe how much I learned in levels 1 & 2.

If you have no track experience you MUST start at Level One. Im signed up with one other member on the Board for May 16 at VIR. We both have done track days in the past but Not Keith Code school, So we are doing the Level 1Starting from the Basics and going with a OPEN MIND to Learn New things, Or things we may have forgotten. We are both using there Track bikes, bring own gear and enjoying the Day...

I was curious about the levels in the CSS... If you have track experience, say you're in the expert group... would you still sign up for the Level 1, or do they do something to bridge you to Level 2 (this would be for a person that has never done a CS school). Also, do they mix (on the same day) level 1 riders and level 2 riders? Or do they keep all the same level for the same day?

I think if you have a Certificate from a other school you can choose 1,2,3 Level 4 is to work on things you want to improve on.

pasted from the Keith code FAQ

The Levels
Each level is a complete and integrated package of technical skills. The levels are not structured according to a rider's experience. Each of the Levels is its own set of related skills broken down into easily understood, bite sized chunks. Read about them below.

The California Superbike School's course curriculum works. We are the number one school in all of the 15 countries where we operate. Please do not come to us for an expensive trackday. We are dedicated to your improvement; we are professionals; we will ensure you learn the skills.

Your Goals
We provide a logical, step-by-step, structured approach for you to achieve your riding goals. We will help you define those goals and provide you with the tools to make progress towards them. This is not PR or hype, we guarantee it and we're the only school who does.

Take a look at what we do, then check our schedule to find a date and track close to you.

Level I
Level I addresses the six most common errors riders, from novice to world-class racers, make and why. You will realize exactly how they have stopped or slowed your own improvement as a rider. There will be a technical briefing for each one including on and off track drills that put you in control of them. Your assigned coach for the day will observe and correct any difficulties you are having with each drill. You will be coached as an individual, according to your skill level. You will improve.

Students often comment that Level I answers questions they didn’t even know they had.

Confidence and control are shattered when riders experience vague fears about turn entry speed, finding good lines, bike stability and their own rider-induced errors. These fears and uncertainties are addressed and replaced with confident and precise bike control. Within the boundaries of good sense and safety, the speed you ride is up to you.

We are very particular about our track course control, we do have rules. Chief among them is: riders may not interfere with each other’s progress and safety. Because of this, after twenty-nine years and over ten million miles of track riding, the school has a phenomenal safety record. Check our schedule to find a date and track close to you.

Level II
It is no secret that Keith was the first to tackle the problems of vision and riding and the drills he's developed to handle them. Once an understanding is achieved of what a motorcycle can and should do for you from the Level I drills, we move on step-by-step, to sharpen the visual skills. Level II is all about solutions to problems we face with our eyes.

The school’s visual drills put you in control of the road. We define our visual enemies and how to overcome them. Everyone knows that target fixation is dangerous. How bad is it? With logical, step-by-step procedures, your eyes become precision instruments. The results of Level 2 are amazing. Riders lose their claustrophobia in corners and gain the freedom to really use the roads they ride.

At most tracks, (where an area to run the Lean Bike is available) Level II students start their Lean Bike training. As with Level I, there are five technical briefings and five track sessions during the day. Check our schedule to find a date and track close to you.

Level III
LEVEL III addresses 5 more proactive technical points on riding. We thoroughly cover how you interface with the bike, your body position choices and how these can affect the cornering process. Once rider position and stability are completely understood it paves the way for line selection options you may never have imagined. All five of the exercises done in Level III are indispensable tools which will put you in control of any set of twisties that exists. The final exercise called Attack Angles will give you a whole new approach to cornering because you'll have a plan. Level III students are videotaped, weather permitting. Check our schedule to find a date and track close to you.
Level IV
LEVEL IV takes a completely different turn. We ask you what needs to be improved.

Now that a rider has spent at least three levels with us and discussed and practiced over 15 different riding skills, we design a program uniquely for that rider. At Level IV we take a very focused look at your skills and tie up the loose ends to your satisfaction.

Level IV is custom-designed for each rider. Aside from their assigned on-track coach, we also provide a highly trained consultant. Throughout the day he will coordinate with your on-track coach and give you one-on-one attention on your riding.

Depending on space availability and track facilities and weather, Level IV students are eligible to ride our Slide Bike. Check our schedule to find a date and track close to you.

When I took level 1, there were track noob's in the class, and experienced racers (who brought their own bikes, tire warmers, tents, and all!). Level has nothing to do with skill level. Even the experienced racers seem to get value out of the class and the coaching from the rider / coaches (the best part IMHO).

I did level 1 at Sears Point (infineon) which is a great track...high end and rather technical. You won't get the long straight aways on this track, but CSS is all about cornering.

I did level 2 & 3 (2 dayer combined) at Willow Springs. I liked the track less than sears point, but it was still great fun! Willow Srings is "faster" meaning a longer straightaways.

Sears point doesn't handle rain as well as some other tracks. But when I was there, it was upper 90's and sun!

In speaking with Dylan (Keith's son), he says some of the tracks are really big draws internationally, like Laguna Seca, so the issue there will be trying to get in. Of course Laguna Seca has the famous cork screw, and apparently very nice track quality. CSS is doing great business, and is selling out many of the sessions, so you'll need to plan ahead (or get lucky on cancellations).

There are many very skilled people who come back for 2 dayer level 4 back to back, and who enroll in his racer school. This is where the skilled get more skilled. and it's a blast. too bad it costs so much, but you get what you pay for.
