What would DTC/ABS do...

A friend of mine who rides an R1 asked me last night if I had any idea what the DTC/ABS system would do in the event of a tank slapper, and does the system have any ability to reduce the probability of one happening in the first place.

I honestly have not idea, so I thought I would ask here.

I think it has no effect, aside from whatever wheelie control does. I had one when I test rode my bike pulling onto the front straight at NJMP - just relaxed my grip and rode it out. It was enough to lead me to upgrade the OEM steering damper, though...

I had the same, upgraded the damper and have never had it again, knock on wood.

it will do nothing to prevent a tank slapper

just a FYI. you can still highside with TC, you can still lowside with TC, you can still tuck your front on the brakes with ABS. these things are only there to help you, but they will NOT fix a riders flaws.

I upgraded mine with a Bitubo. Ohlins and GPR have great ones out too.
