My CSS Experience...Review
Hello...Mi name is Hector, I have been in two wheels since I can remember...I was born with the pasion, and It was feeded with lot of 1950 black&white pictures of my Father in his Triumph. He use to have 2 Triumphs and 2 BSA in his garage before he got married...his pasion ended there .
I had a big gap driving motorbikes left it for 10 years, then 3 years ago I was invited to a Suzuki Dealer opening...and right in the front door I saw what it brought me back...A orange/black 2008 Hayabusa, 15 minutes passed and I was writing the check...and since then the pasion returned multiplied so many times, same feeling for the S1000RR, mine is arriving from Germany next month, November is the month Ill get it
Ive been doing Canyon Riding for three years now...and good or bad I now that my group is one of the best around...We are the fastest in the Mountain right now no doubt. Although the Busa is heavy I have managed to make it do things a R1, 1098, or Gixxer does with ease in the mountain, but Needing more I turned my eyes at the S1000RR.
I didnt have track experience until last year, and I was hocked at the spot...been dreaming of preparing a S1000RR for track, so nuts I am, yes...Because my intention is getting one new for my Sunday rides, and other (maybe salvage) and prep it for track...So thinking in the track, and knowing although I consider I have some skills...the option of School came to mind...So this is the start of my little adventure...Doing 2 day camp and Level 3 the third day...hope my fisical condition lasts for the 3 days.
Ill try to write all my experiences and explain what went good and bad for me...At the moment im sitting in the airport terminal in Monterrey, Mexico waiting for my plane to take me to Dallas and afterwards to Burbank. From there Ill stay in Lancaster at the Holiday Inn Express I booked through Hotwire.com: Discount airfare, hotel reservations, car rentals, vacation packages and cruises saving about $70 dlls....
Cheers for now
Sincerely,
Hector

I really hope to do one of these schools, maybe next spring. Cramming in all those levels in one weekend; you must be totally exhausted!!
yellow F800S!! I miss mine; I had that bike really set up just right for me. I always felt the bike was perfect; just needed double the horsepower. I now have that power deficit made up but the S1000RR is easier to hustle through twisties yet more stable at highly illegal speeds.

That F800S is just the "Break Bike" If you sign for the 2 day camp, some drills are included as the "Break Bike", "Lean Angle Bike" and "Camara Bike". All three are aswone tools to experiment and correct things in a safety way.
In the break bike you experiment locking the front...intresting to be a manual ABS and you get to know the limits while breaking.
The "Lean Bike" is a perfect tool to check your body postition...I cant imagine another better way to learn, the correct way of positioning your body in a corner.
Well did Level 3 Today...That is all about body position, I just got to Anaheim from Lancaster where I stayed for the long of the course, and Im pretty tired...So Ill try to start to write the review tomorrow...

Since I was making the trip for the school, I manage to bring my family down to California, and Im waiting for them already settled at the Sheraton at Garden Grove near Disney, so we´ll staying for the week for Diseny and the parks... What a Vacation!!!
After the CSS experience doing Level 1,2,&3 I can only say that I improved a lot, learn things that even reading them on Keith´s books sometimes they dont make sence until you go and do them with someone on your shoulder.
First thing you think...CSS is pretty expensive , yes it is!!!, well thats your first reaction!, but after your done you realize that this guys are as profesional as it gets...and if you love to ride bikes, whatever fast, slow, at the track, at the road, canyon rods, whatever...the money you spend is worth every penny, and I dont gain nothing in expresing it...Im a common guy as almost in this forum not rich not poor, just a avreage guy making my living, and can say that what I spend was worth it. You are paying for the best knowledge, best service most of the time personal atention, best machinery and well manteined. First thing I notice was brand new tires in all bikes! This guys really care for your security, after they are pretty sure you are in a safe zone for your level, they let you go throw the thrills...they take note of everything you are doing, they have scattered watchers at almost every corner at the track, they spot you every detail your doing and report it to track control, If you touch the brakes, throttle on, throttle off, lean more than necesary or whatever, they´ll know what you are doing, and from there they start to sculpt their very exclusive and singular stile of riding, you can notice after doing the levels that you are riding in a very similar way that distinguishes you as a CSS student...
After this brief introduction of the school, Ill try to brake down what did I learn through 1,2&3 levels...
Please be free to ask if you have doubts about the school, I had a lot...did some research although I had few data to make the decision, something told me to just do it, now I can say that i dont regret it, so If I can help someone clarifing something, just ask...
Sincerely,
Hector Quintanilla

Very very cool and I'm so glad that you had so much fun and learned so much. You must be tired after three days in a row! I love how you said that the school is able to see whatever you do on the track "if you do it they will know " hahah that is awesome. We certainly do our best to watch every student carefully (even if they are not our own) and be on the lookout for any mistakes being made or anything that needs correction to prevent any crashes or mishaps.
Thanks for the write up and the pics look good as well!
Cheers,
Misti
