Default Does rolling on the gas stand the bike up?

Does rolling on the gas stand the bike up? When exiting a corner how do you get the bike to come up to vertical again, do you just roll on the gas or do you do something else?

Turn off the DTC and twist the throttle quickly and it will come RIGHT UP. Fast. Be careful.

Clutch it up in second probably more safe.

I don't like to do it as it feels like it will kill the clutch.

When DTC is on you can wheelie in slick mode and small ones in race. As the max torque hits in 3rd the front rises and 6" power wheelie is yours at well over 100mph! The TC light flashes whilst this happens

Cool!

Nope. You actually "push" it away from you as you roll on the throttle to stand it up out of the corner and keep the contact patch as wide as possible to let as much power transfer to the ground.

using your knees to get your self upright on the bike is a good way to keep the bike stable, also practising your counter steering will help your cornering

Yes, rolling on the gas will assist in standing it back up along with body-english.
I'm new to track days and are watching this thread to learn the correct answer.

Where is Keith Code when you need him?

Take a look at a MotoGP video. You will see the rider hang off the bike MORE when coming out of a turn. What they are doing is countersteering hard to stand the bike up (coming out of a right turn push on the left bar), which allows more throttle application.

This was one of the drills we did at the California Superbike School on the S1000RR. Was pretty awkward at first, but made a HUGE difference in exit speeds.

Misti, didn't realize it was you who originated the post.

Rolling on the gas does not stand the bike up. If you are running wide, we were taught to roll on the throttle to tighten the turn. Unfortunately, the Survival Reflex (SR) acts against us. We desperately want to roll off the throttle.

No, it does not.

In fact, in days of yore, the brakes would "stand-up" the bike. Your trail will increase, you'll unload the turning wheel...what you do in RESPONSE to that might stand up the bike. But more likely, you push the bar, you un-turn.

Reduccio...if you REALLY open it up, it will do the opposite of standing up.
