Default How to lose 12 pounds of unsprung, rotating weight.

OEM S1000RR wheels weigh in at approximately 9.8 pounds front, and 16.4 pounds rear.

PVM Forged 6 spoke wheels weigh in at approximately 5.9 pounds front, and 8.5 pounds rear.

That is a 3.9 pound drop from the front wheel, and a 7.9 pound drop from the rear wheel for approximately 11.8 pounds of saved rotating weight!

So... You want to Accelerate Faster, Stop Quicker, Handle Better?

Do you have any, or can you make some pictures of these light weight PVM wheels on a postal scale?

Wow - thats an impressive weight saving. I changed my wheels on my KTM RC8 to BST carbon wheels and I dont even think I got the same weight saving. And that changed the bike completely (for the better off coarse !!)

Does the original parts (discs, bush drive etc) fit on these PVM wheels ?

Not at this time, as they have not yet arrived. The weights were provided by PVM though, and I know our first sponsored BMW rider (from Europe - pics to come soon) is running them.

Your KTM wheels were most likely lighter than the BMW's. Honestly it is not hard to see where BMW cut costs in this bike, but at the same time they gave us one hell of a motor, and electronics package so I'm certainly not complaining.

Ohh and you cannot use your oem discs with these wheels, you must use aftermarket, and if you want to keep your ABS/DTC (if you have it) you must at this point use PVM's rotors (which is certainly not a bad option anyways!).

Group buy? Makes Ducati forged magwheels look affordable.

Based on the weights he posted, they would be lighter.

I don't quite think that's correct... BST's should still come in lighter than these weights.

Forget the group buy there's not a ton of margin in these things, but you can still enjoy your 10% forum member discount instead.
