Default Laguna Seca visit?

I'm holidaying in San Francisco and the Yosemite area next week with the family (from the UK) and was thinking about visiting the Laguna Seca track. The question that I would like answered by someone with local knowledge is, is it worth a visit? Can the public gain access and is there a website that gives details of events there (ie bike racing or trackdays) that I could go along and watch? I've googled without much success.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Here you go.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

If there is racing going on, it's always worth a visit.

There are a ton of great places to visit around Laguna; Big Sur, Monterey, Carmel etc.. Good restaurants, great views, Golf if that's your thing.. Drive up or down the Pacific Coat Highway (Hwy 1)...

Thanks for the info. It appears there will be a car event at the time we are planning to be in the area, whilst it not bikes at least I should hopefully be able to see the track (and the famous corkscrew)!

Thanks again.

Did you make it to Laguna yet? It is an awesome course. I hope you asked someone for a ride around the track. It is just like being in a video game.
