Hey, neighbor! I live down in Wheaton (Silver Spring) and rode my new S1000RR away from Bob's BMW today (March 6). I'll be ready for some nice, sane highway runs after a few break-in miles on the Howard County back roads. Let's keep in touch.
Checking in from Frederick. Picking up my scoot on June 5th. Already plan to do the 211/33 loop on the 12th to get rid of them "chicken strips". I'm up for any other weekend rides.
picked mine up from bobs last Saturday, got first service done this Saturday, taking it to road atlanta 3rd and 4th of july for a shake down along with my zx10 track ***** and then monday july 17th going to njmp. I'm in OC, does anyone track ride/race?
I've tracked at Summit Point a few times on my F1098. Haven't yet hit the track on my RR (which I also got at Bob's, btw) - but I'm signed up for the 2-day California Superbike School at Thunderbolt on 4-5 AUG.
Hello from just across the state line in WV. I picked up mine from Bob's on June fifth and am in line to get my first service done. I work in MD though so I spend much of my riding time along the great Washington and Frederick county back roads. Nice to have such fun roads for my daily commute.
What would you consider abnormal? There is a $495 fee that is charged by BMW to all dealers, Bob's included. The dealer is then reimbursed by BMW for part or all of that $495. That is the only item for which I was charged by Bob's, apart from the negotiated price for the bike.
Had my 600 mile service on Thursday over at Bob's BMW. Price was $206 plus tax ($210 total). It was almost exactly what the sales guy told me it would be when I asked before I bought the motorcycle. Fair enough I reckon as the labor rates in MD are steep, $128.70 of the service was labor.
I must say that I thought Bob's has a great service department. Excellent techs and good customer service. Plus if you buy from Bob's, they will provide a loaner bike at no charge while you are still under warranty. Nice little bonus.
just picked up my "m" edition s1000rr from bob's last thursday. i'm already ready for the 600 miles service. would love to get together with some of you for a nice back road romp through some twisties. sorry, but i'm allergic to 95 and the beltway.
Looking to get a sk1 this weekend but It seems like everybody want top dollar! i know the bike may be worth it but damn.... Any pointers or price range I should stick too. I've seen several 2010 online and they still want the original price! Help...want to get one this weekend!
I'm official now! Picked up my s1k this weekend! I will post pics as soon as I take it off the truck. Got it for a good price so now its time to get some aftermarket goodies!
upshur, where did you get your good deal? I am looking to purchase in a couple of months when I get back to from my deployment. I live in Ellicott City.
Semper Fi! I think dealer up North will flex more on the price. There is a brand new Silver 2010 @ Bergan County HD/BMW in Jersey. They would only quote me 15,500 over the phone but I'm sure they will work something out for you. I think the key is to not tell them you are active duty before negotiating a price. I can send you the sales rep info and I have pics of the bike. When are you coming home? I'm trying to deploy asap!
