These runs are usually 4 - 5 hours, 130 miles or so long through mountain twisties and some nice deserted farm roads. The run will end on tasty Rt. 23 near High Point state park. I used to bring guys up the High Point monument for a quick rest before heading home but they now want $5 a person so that's not likely to happen. We'll do two scheduled stops for gas/water/snacks throughout the day. I usually bring a back pack with water on the really hot days, i recommend you do the same. Before heading home we'll stop at the Chatterbox on Rt 15 for some grub before heading home down rt. 80.
Post if you will be attending so we can TRY and wait up in the morning

Street Ride Etiquette - Always worth repeating
paraphrased from the guy who showed me street twisties, NJgixxer1000 :cheers
================================================== =======
1. staggered formation on the highway, but when we are riding hard, I want my whole lane, and intend to use it, so single file! Also, give the rider in front of you AT LEAST a bike length. On the street, things can go wrong in a heartbeat so give yourselves room!
2. Inevitably, there are fast people and there are those who want to ride slower. Not a problem. Ride your own ride and wave faster folks past you on the straights. If you know you are going to ride a bit slower, don't slot in so close to the front the group in the first place. This way there's even less pressure on you to keep a pace you are uncomfortable with. We will ALWAYS stop at every intersection to get the group back together so no one gets left behind. If you come to a stop sign after falling behind, and no one is there stopped, continue straight, it means we did not turn off.
3. If you feel you must make a pass of another rider, do it on a straight and not in a corner. The street is not the track!
4. Hand signals - If I give a hand signal of any kind, do it yourself as well to signal those behind you so everyone is on the same page. I use Left turn, right turn, I pat towards the ground with one or both hands to slow down (depending on severity), pat my helmet for cops sighted. If I point at my eyes it means you have a light out, if I point at my gas tank, it means I need fuel. If I put a foot out on either side, look where it is pointed- it means there is something in the road, some sort of debris.
5. Gas- if you need gas, pull alongside the leader at the next intersection and point at your gas tank. If it can't wait till the next intersection, get up next to the rider ahead of you and point at your tank. Everyone should do this one at a time to let the leader know that a fuel stop is needed.
6. Stunts - :nono If you're looking for group to stunt with this will NOT BE IT!
7. Law Enforcement- We do not condone evading pursuit. We will not support your actions in doing this should you choose to do so. Personally, I will not share info with LEOs should I get pulled over and you decide to run, but do not expect me to take off with you. I feel that running is a bad choice, but it is ultimately, your choice. Keep in mind that it is a felony and you will go to jail if you are caught. AGAIN, WE DO NOT CONDONE EVADING LAW ENFORCEMENT!!!
8. Passing the leader - On a pre-scheduled group ride, do not pass the leader unless you have already discussed it and set it up to happen, or you are waved by. If you still decide that you have to pass, do not expect the group to follow you. If you want to lead a group ride, simply call one out and schedule it here on GDC
9. Gear - Please wear your gear! If you are attending a ride I am leading, wear a helmet and jacket at a BARE MINIMUM. If you are unable to come up with the needed equipment, pm me ahead of time & I may have extra gear that fits you. It is your personal choice of what gear you wear, but it is my personal choice as to whether or not I will ride with you. I WILL go home if one of you shows up in shorts and a goddam t-shirt! Don't dress for the ride, dress for the slide. Myself and most of the guys i ride with will dress for a track day when running hard in the twisties...so don't be embarrassed to come out in full leathers - you won't be the only one!
I cannot emphasize enough that you need to ride at your own pace. Do not try to keep up if you are not comfortable or capable of doing so. We will not leave you behind! Our groups can be very diverse. From track whores to beginners on 250 cc bikes, we've gotten'em all. Do not ever feel pressured to keep up. In order for everyone to have fun you must ride in your comfort zone. I've seen noobs come out with us and try to keep up only to end up going head first into the woods. No one will be left behind, no one will be ridiculed for the speed they choose to ride. Everyone has their own comfort level. Stay in it!
