My S1000RR

So, I know the title is a little on the obvious side. But, yesterday I took delivery of a 2012 S1KRR in red with just over 6k miles on the clock. She came pretty much standard, apart from the crash bungs, tail tidy and the double bubble screen I fitted today.

I took her out for a little pootle earlier and started in sport but then switched over to race and my god what a difference!

I had ridden the 2016 demo last year and to be honest, this feels a little rougher around the edges (in a good way.) It being on my dream bike list has obviously given me a tick there haha and I was a little nervous on her. But time will sort that out.

Anyway, I noticed that the rear brake lever is in a rather strange place. as in it is miles away... So I guess new rearsets are on the list...

Hey congrats and welcome to the club! :-)

I have a '16 and felt the same way about the rear brake, it almost feels like they don't want you to use it.
I replace the stock rearsets with HP rearsets, are they are set pretty much the same way. However, HP's allow
you to adjust the knurled knob on the end of the brake lever up or down to a degree, so it's now about a 1/2" or so
higher than stock, good enough.

Remember our front and rear brakes are linked anyways, unless you're in slick mode (other modes may do that too)

Haha There's a mode other then slick mode? Go attack rear sets. You get more adjustment and they aren't over priced.

To stop this place from becoming eBay all over again. But some don't seem to get the message.

Welcome, you'll find that this is not your average forum, in a good way. What's that other bike hiding in the barn?

That would be my speed triple, but sadly she's going this week.
And thank you for answering without sarcasm, I've seen some replies on forums and it puts you off joining.
Here's better photos of her.
Oh, another question. Is this an American forum or? Because I couldn't find a UK one...

Welcome.
There used to be one of those, but shhhhhh, nobody speaks of it here.

This forum attracts people from ALL over the world, not just USA including UK, Australia, middle East, Asia, Denmark, etc.

Using the search feature here, will net you much more SOLID information on the s1000 based motorcycles, than anywhere else on the interwebbage.

I can tell already that it was a good idea joining here. You all seem sound so far. I'm just waiting for my insurance then I'll be out on her. So far it has just been watching and cleaning haha
