Smile New owner - Sydney, Australia

Hi Guys,

Got my new S1000rr a couple of months ago. The only issue I have is that there are only 7 days in a week and I have to work for 5 of those and I am not able to ride - The weather hasn't been very kind to us either on the last few weekends. That said I am absolutely and utterly happy with this machine. I have to get the trip meter switch replaced as it is faulty but it doesn't stop me from riding.

My previous bike was a Hyosung 650S which I bought as a learner a few years ago but after getting my full license I started looking at better bikes. After riding a couple of Yamahas and the Suzuki GSXrs and I realized how cheap the Hyo was made (Don't take me wrong - good bike to learn but not the best). I got to the point that I just didn't feel safe on the Hyo and I sold it and then spent the last 4 years looking at bikes. I rode the S1000rr when it first came out but the price was a bit high (and I couldn't get the Financial Controller to let me invest in what is clearly a once in a lifetime opportunity) - I almost settled for the CBR1000s but after putting a deposit down I decided to rescind the contract as I just couldn't stop thinking about the BMW and would constantly keep thinking that it wasn't what I wanted.

After all this and a another year - I gave a friend a lift to pick up he Ducati Multistrada 1200 from the dealer. As I walked in I saw her: Perfect lines, beautiful skin and ready for action... You could say love at first sight but I had already met her and the flame was still there... This time I just could not leave her behind...

If you see a black S1000rr (and friend just got a white one) - so a couple of S1000rr and a Multistrada trying to keep pace in and around Sydney - that would be me and a couple of mates... Feel free to join us.

cheers,

Fred
