Default Newby from Nashville

Hello everyone. I ended up here by pure accident while researching for replacements for my great, but short lived,Q2's. I was looking for info on the Metzler M5 and this site came up. I have been lurking for a bit,and decided to join even though I ride a ZX14. I look forward to making contributions in the gear and tire threads. Great site you have here. Peyton

Welcome
The bikes come with Metzeler K3's (most do anyway) which are what they were developed on, so in my newbie/humble opinion, pretty decent for the bike. I will probably get something less track-specific like the M5's next. I'd be interested to know people's favorite winter tire options for the bike (ie, would they go with Roadtec Z8's or M5's?). I live in the SE too, so winter conditions aren't terrible

Travist the M5 is suppose to be a great cold and wet grip tire. Crunk how much different is riding the 1000r in the twistys vs the much bigger 14?
